A sprawling expanse of 87 square kilometers in the Chamoli District of Uttarakhand, Valley of Flowers is set in the backdrop of the majestic Himalayan Ranges. This fairyland located in the high altitudes of Himalayas is protected by snowy mountains. Bounded by the magnificent mountain ranges and glittering glaciers, this place unfolds the charisma and charm of nature at its best.

When To Visit

The Valley of Flowers is only open from the beginning of June until the beginning of October, as it’s covered in snow the rest of the year. The best time to visit is from mid July to mid August, when the flowers are in full bloom after the first monsoon rain.

Itinerary

DAY DEHRARUN-GOVINDGHAT

  • Meet at Dehradun Airport/Railway Station (reach before 08:00 hrs) and get transferred to Govindghat.
  • Making its way along Ganga and Alaknanda rivers, the drive is an engaging one.
  • Cross Dev Prayag and Rudra Prayag.
  • Upon arrival check at hotel/lodge.
  • Overnight at Govindghat.

DAY 2GOVINDGHAT-GHANGRIA (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel/Lodge.
  • After that be ready for thrilling adventure trek to Ghangaria .
  • Pass through forest area and villages and the sights of waterfall and verdant landscapes.
  • After covering 11km in 5-6 hours, reach Ghangaria.
  • (You can also hire a mule or use the helicopter service to reach Ghangaria.)
  • Check in at Camp upon arrival.
  • Overnight at Ghangria.

DAY 3GHANGRIA-VALLEY OF FLOWERS-GHANGRIA (B)

  • Breakfast at Camp.
  • Look forward to a short climb to the valley, moderate gradient and fetching landscapes. It will take you around 2 hours to reach Valley of Flowers.
  • Experience the massive meadows filled with the huge pine trees, many streams, and supercilious mountains. At the right side of the Valley witness the snowy Ratban Parvat Peak, and on the left is Nar Parvat.
  • Explore the valley which is full of Colorful and vibrant flowers, a wide variety of flora and fauna, national park.
  • Back to camp at Ghangria.
  • Overnight at Ghangria.

DAY 4GHAGRIA-GOVINDGHAT (B)

  • Breakfast at the Camp.
  • Check out & head back to Govindghat.
  • You will get to see sulphur water pools to get a spiritual bath in them along with some fresh air.
  • Back to hotel/lodge.
  • Overnight at Govindghat.

DAY 5Lake Geneva and Château de Chillon

  • Breakfast at hotel/Lodge.
  • Check out & proceed to Dehradun airport/railway station by vehicle.
  • Tour ends with Sweet Memories…!!!
