When to visit

Best time to visit Assam is during the months of winters and summers, i.e.: November to March. Winters in Assam are chilling but enjoyable, and summers are delightful and refreshing. Try to avoid monsoon season, because heavy rains at times lead to inconveniences.

October and April are the best months to visit Arunachal Pradesh which are the winter and the spring months for the state. Arunachal is located at a high altitude, and so has pleasant weather throughout the year. During the summers (April to June) temperature might be too high to explore during the peak daytime hours.

Itinerary

DAY 1GUWAHATI ARRIVAL

Arrive at Guwahati airport/railway station you will be received and greet by our company representative.
Check in upon arrival.
After refreshment visit Shankardeva Kalakshetra -a cultural centre with a fine exposition of the life and culture of the people of Assam. Then visit Shilpagram & Balaji Temple.
Overnight at Guwahati.

DAY 2GUWAHATI – TEZPUR (B)

Breakfast at hotel.
Check out & drive to Tezpur (185km) – The beautiful historical town of Tezpur is well known for its ancient temples and ruins.
In the evening, you may visit the Chitralekha Uddyan which is the house of the finest specimen of sculptural remains of 9th century.
Overnight at Tezpur.

DAY 3TEZPUR-NAMERI– DIRANG (B)

Breakfast at hotel.
Check out & set off for a visit to the Nameri National Park. Covering an area of about 200 Sq kms this park is the second Tiger reserve of Assam.
The rich wildlife of this park includes Tiger, Black Bear, Elephant, Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Indian Bison, Pangolin, Indian Wild Dog, Deer, Civet Cat, Capped Langur, Jackals etc.
Thereafter, drive to Dirang, the land of Monpa tribes of Arunachal Pradesh.
Enroute visit Tippi Orchid Centre and Sessa Orchid Sanctuary.
Evening is free at leisure.
Overnight at Dirang.

DAY 4DIRANG – TAWANG (B)

Breakfast at hotel.
Check out & proceed for the local sightseeing of Dirang.
Visit the Yak Breeding centre, The Lower Monastery, the Hot Spring, the Nag Mandir and the War Memorial.
Thereafter drive to Tawang (141kms/6hrs).
On the way enjoy the beauty of Sella Lake and the Sella Pass (13746ft) as well as Jaswantgarh. Jaswantgarh.
In the evening, explore the town of Tawang.
Overnight at Tawang.

DAY 5TAWANG SIGHTSEEING (B)

Breakfast at hotel.
Proceed for sightseeing tour of Tawang by covering the famous Tawang Monastery is 400 year old and the Ani Gompa – Woman Monastery, Tawang war memorial, Handicraft center.
Evening back to hotel and rest of the day is free for shopping and personal activities.
Overnight at Tawang.

DAY 6TAWANG-EXCURSION TO BUM LA PASS & SANGUSTER LAKE-TAWANG (B)

Breakfast at hotel.
Proceed for full day tour to Bum la pass and Sangutser Lake, en-route visit PTSO Lake.
Back to Tawang and rest of the day free at leisure.
Overnight at Tawang.

DAY 7TAWANG – BOMDILA (B)

Breakfast at hotel.
Check out & drive to Bomdila (180km).
On the way enjoy the beauty and majesty of Jung Water Fall and visit Kiwi Garden at Dirang valley.
Check in upon arrival.
Overnight at Bomdila.

DAY 8BOMDILA – KAZIRANGA (B)

Breakfast at hotel.
Check out & drive to Kaziranga National Park (250km) – a World Heritage Site and Tiger Reserve, covering an area of 430 Sq km.
Check in upon arrival.
Overnight at Kaziranga.

DAY 9JUNGLE ACTIVITY AT KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK (B)

Wake up early morning for Elephant ride (5.30-6.30 a.m. / 6.30-7.30 a.m.) in the Central / western range of the park.
Back to resort and have breakfast.
Go for an exclusive jeep safari in the central range.
Evening free for local sightseeing. Visit Tea Garden, Ganesh Temple and Handicraft village.
Overnight at Kaziranga.

DAY 10KAZIRANGA – GUWAHATI (B)

Breakfast at hotel.
Check out & proceed to Guwahati (225km).
Transfer to hotel upon arrival & check in.
After refreshment visit the Kamakhya Temple on the Nilachal Hills (10kms) – a seat of the tantric cult in India and one of the 108 Shakti Pethas in the country.
Overnight at Guwahati.

DAY 11GUWAHATI DROP (B)

Breakfast at hotel.
Check out & transfer to Guwahati Airport/Railway station for your onward journey.
