It’s famous for Vardzia, a sprawling cave monastery dating to the 12th century, and the ancient wine-growing region Kakheti. The capital, Tbilisi, is known for the diverse architecture and mazelike, cobblestone streets of its old town.

When to Travel

The best time to visit Georgia is May, June or September, especially in the lowlands around Tbilisi, as you’ll avoid the summer heat and humidity as well as the freezing winter. Autumn harvest time is well worth a mention, especially around the vineyards of Kakheti.

Itinerary

DAY 1TBILISI

  • Arrive at Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport.
  • Transfer from the Airport to hotel.
  • Check-in at Hotel.
  • Tbilisi: The history of this amazing city throws back as far as the 5th century when the Georgian king. Vakhtang Gorgasali ordered to build a city in the center of the fertile valley cozily lying between two Caucasian ridges. It originated from the word “tbili” – warm.
  • Day at Leisure on your own. Discover Tbilisi Sulfur Baths : A cluster of historic bathhouses built on the famed hot springs that gave the Georgian capital its name.
  • Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 2TBILISI - MTSKHETA - TBILISI (B)

  • Breakfast at Hotel.
  • Proceed to visit Jvari the 6th century Georgian Orthodox monastery – Mtskheta (one of the oldest cities of Georgia). Mtskheta is a unesco World Heritage Site. It has been inhabited since before 1,000 BC and was once the capital of the early Kingdom of Iberia (today’s Eastern Georgia).
  • Come back to Tbilisi for some shopping in Carefure mall.
  • Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 3TBILISI (B)

  • Breakfast at Hotel.
  • Today visit Old Tbilisi – Sameba Holy Trinity Cathedral by Funicular cable railways (leads to a beautiful leisure and amusement park with fountains). The Holy Trinity Tsminda Sameba Cathedral is the symbol of new Georgia. The beauty and size of cathedral are indeed breathtaking, and rises magnificently on the hill of the St. Ilya, on the bank of the Kura River. Sameba is the highest church in Georgia. It is 101m high.
  • Also visit Kartlis Deda Monument of Mother of Georgia, Narikala Fortress of 4th c, Turkish bath houses complex,  Chardin Street (full of modern, popular restaurants, open air café-bars, art galleries), Leselidze street – waling in Freedom Square to Rustaveli Ave. 
  • In the evening visit Peace Bridge – dancing and singing fountains.
  • Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 4TBILISI - SIGHNAGHI - TBILISI (B)

  • Breakfast at Hotel.
  • Today drive to Sighnaghi city “City of wine and love”. The administrative center of the Sighnaghi Municipality, one of the country & smallest towns, busy with the production of wine, traditional carpets and Georgian traditional food Mcvadi.
  • Visit St. Stephen bell tower.
  • Also visit Monastery Bodbe,  this beautiful monastery is one of the most important places for Georgians, because St. Nino, who brought Christianity to Georgia, is buried there.
  • Stop in Sagarejo to see beautiful, exotic nature and ancient historical-cultural monuments. The small lakes scattered on the abundant Iori Plateau, the forests of Mariamjvari Reserve or colorful deserts offer interesting routes.
  • Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 5TBILISI (B)

  • Breakfast at Hotel.
  • Check out from hotel.
  • Today visit Mtatsminda Park (a beautiful leisure and amusement park overlooking the entire city and TV tower)
  • In the afternoon do some Shopping in the city center and some souvenirs at Flee market.
  • Followed by visit to Tbilisi Mall.
  • Later transfer to the airport for your flight.
  • Tour Ends.
