Lakshwadeep located off the coast of Kerala down in the south of India, Lakshadweep is India’s smallest Union Territory. Entry to Lakshadweep requires a special permit. Some of these islands are inhabited while others aren’t. Everywhere you look, you get to see the seemingly endless blue expanse of the Arabian Sea. Picturesque beaches, unique plant and sea life, it is all there to see.

When To Visit

The best time to visit Lakshadweep is from October to mid May. From mid May to September it is rainy. Though all the resorts in Lakshadweep are open throughout the year, reaching there by ship is difficult during monsoon.

Itinerary

DAY 1ARRIVE AGATTI

  • Arrive at Agatti Airport, you will be transferred to hotel.
  • Check in upon arrival.
  • The day is to be spent at your leisure or take a barefoot stroll over the sandy beaches, right into near the fantasy-like lagoon of Agatti Island. Even as far as 500 metres in, the water level won’t rise higher than your knees.
  • Overnight at Agatti Island.

DAY 2AGATTI SIGHTSEEING (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Proceed for exploration of your host island of Agatti, interacting with the people, and understanding their customs.
  • The culture shares similarities with Kerala’s culture, given that Kerala is the closest state on the Indian mainland.
  • Handicraft items found in these parts are made of locally present corals, shells and oysters, all of which are used to make various ornaments and jewelry.
  • Back to hotel.
  • Overnight at Agatti.

DAY 3AGATTI-BANGARAM ISLAND-THINNAKARA-AGATTI (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Proceed for a side trip to Bangaram and Thinnakara.
  • Witness the dolphins and turtles frolicking out in the wild, for a delightful memory to take back with you.
  • Bangaram and Thinnakara islands will take about 90 minutes to reach.
  • Bangaram is often known as “the gem of Lakshadweep”, and seascapes on sight from there certainly make a strong case as to why.
  • Also visit the nearby Thinnakara Island is no slouch in this department either, with a near hypnotic view of the sea stretching all the way to the horizon, adorned with bioluminescent plankton in its expanse. Back to hotel.
  • Overnight at Agatti.

DAY 4AGATTI-KALPITTY ISLAND-AGATTI (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Proceed to Kalpitty Island by boat, will take 45 minutes to reach.
  • Spend the afternoon on this island, till you get to see a particularly stunning sight of the sunset. As the sun goes down.
  • Back to hotel.
  • Overnight at Agatti.

DAY 5WATER SPORTS (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Enjoy the wide variety of activities available to go for.
  • Scuba diving lets you take a look a clear, close-up look at the underwater life, with schools of fish, colorful corals, and the seemingly alien topography within arms reach.
  • Also one can enjoy snorkeling by not going deep into the water, but still can have a glimpse of life under the sea.
  • You could go surfing, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, yachting, and so much more.
  • Back to hotel.
  • Overnight at Agatti.

DAY 6AGATTI DEPARTURE (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Check out & proceed to airport for your onward journey.
