Tour Details

Visit the Kaziranga National Park to see greater one-horned rhinos before you visit one of the largest river islands in Asia at Majuli. Also visit the mesmerising hills of Meghalaya to see the evergreen Cherrapunji, crystal clear waters at Umngot river in Dawki, Mawlynnong and the Shillong town.

When to visit

Best time to visit Assam is during the months of winters and summers, i.e.: November to March. Winters in Assam are chilling but enjoyable, and summers are delightful and refreshing. Try to avoid monsoon season, because heavy rains at times lead to inconveniences.

Itinerary

DAY 1GUWAHATI – KAZIRANGA (ASSAM – MEGHALAYA)

  • Arrive Guwahati & drive to Kaziranga (164 Kms / 6 hrs drive approx).
  • Upon arrival check in at hotel.
  • Day free for leisure.
  • Overnight at Kaziranga.

DAY 2KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Take a jeep safari to western range.
  • Back to hotel & freshen up.
  • Afternoon take another jeep safari towards central range.
  • Evening back to hotel.
  • Overnight at Kaziranga.

DAY 3KAZIRANGA-SHILLONG (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Check out & drive to Shillong (225 kms / 6 hrs drive approx).
  • Upon arrival check-in at Hotel and after refreshment if time permits, we visit Cathedral of Marry and evening roam the Shilling’s famous Police Bazaar on foot.
  • Overnight at Shillong.

DAY 5SHILLONG-CHERRAPUNJEE (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Check out & drive to Cherrapunjee (60 kms / 2 hrs drive approx one way). En route visit the famous Elephant Falls.
  • Arrive Cherrapunjee & visit – Mawsmai Cave,Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. Visit Thankarang Park and Koh Ramhah.
  • Overnight at Cherrapunjee.

DAY 5CHERRAPUNJEE (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Visit trek to double Decker Living Root Bridge – 3-4 hours from the Resort. Distance 4 km down and up 1000 feet approx. This trek starts from the Resort premises and goes downhill through village Sohsarat. The steps are relatively steeper in two short stretches. Half the distance is covered by steps going downhill. Then there is a jungle path going along the sides of the hill leading to the Living Root Bridge with a few steps after short stretches of sloping foot path. Moss thrives on these sandstone steps during the monsoon and makes them slippery.
  • Back trek to resort and evening at leisure with local music placed by the local boys.
  • Overnight at Cherrapunjee.

DAY 6CHERRAPUNJEE-SHILLONG (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Check out from the hotel.
  • Drive to Shillong for onward journey. (60 kms / 2 hrs drive approx one way).
  • Tour end with Sweet Memories….!!!
