When to visit

Once called The Pearl of the Orient, Ho Chi Minh City is famous for its pleasant climate, warm all year and rarely has severe natural disasters, like typhoons or floods. The best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City is during the drier months of December to April. This period also sees the most colourful festivals taking place all over the country, including Christmas, New Year and “Tet holiday” (Vietnamese New Year).

Itinerary

DAY 1ARRIVE HO CHI MINH - SAIGON SKYDECK & THE WORLD OF HEINEKEN

  • Arrive at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh). Welcome by English speaking guide and transfer to hotel.
  • Check-in at hotel. Pick up from the hotel for the visit of Bitexco. Get breathtaking views of Ho Chi Minh City from the Saigon Skydeck on the 49th floor of the 262-meter high Bitexco Financial Tower. Ascend the skyscraper on one of the city’s fastest elevators at 7 meters per second. Then continue with the journey The World of Heineken to discover the long history of the prosperous Heineken’s empire since 1873, explore professional brewing process of Heineken from 3 natural materials: Distilled water, barley, hops and the special A-yeast, be “boiled” into beer in 4D movie experience enjoy the racing games and learn how to pour beer in Star Serve standards. And after all, enjoy the best beer at highest official Heineken bar. Back to hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.

     

DAY 2FULL DAY CU CHI TUNNELS & CITY TOUR (B)

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Pick up from hotel & proceed to Cu Chi, the famous tunnels, which were once a major underground hideout and resistance base of Viet Cong forces during the two wars against the French and the Americans. The tunnels, entirely hand-dug, formed a highly intricate network of interlinked multilevel passageways at times stretched as far as the Cambodian border and totaling over 120 km in length. At the present, the section of the tunnel system open to visitors is a few 100 metres only. It is 50m length and about 1.2m high and 80cm across. Some travelers find them too claustrophobic for comfort but experience to know more about the war in Vietnam.
  • Then proceed for a city tour to visit the War Remnants Museum, the Reunification Palace, Notre-Dame Basilica- a neo-Roman cathedral built over 130 years ago by the colonial French, Sai Gon Post Office, a fine colonial building which was designed and built in the early 20th Century by the famous French architect Gustave Eiffel Last. Back to hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.

DAY 3HO CHI MINH - FULL DAY MY THO (B)

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Pick up from the hotel and travel past miles of flat rice fields, along a bustling road to the Mekong Delta, the World’s largest delta and Vietnam’s largest rice bowl. On arrival in My Tho City, board a motorboat and navigate through intricate canals while observing the local daily life up close as well as the landscape of waterways and lush islands. Land on Thoi Son Island to listen to Southern traditional music performed by native artists. Next, change to a paddle boat to cruise through the narrow canals and visit households with traditional occupations of home-based coconut candy and rice-wine making. Continue travel by motorized boat to another island to visit a bee farm and taste tea with fresh honey from the beehives and enjoy fresh fruits. On the return to My Tho, stop to visit the Vinh Trang Pagoda, a prominent local Buddhist structure. Lunch during the tour. Back to hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.

DAY 4HO CHI MINH - VUNG TAU - HO CHI MINH (B)

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Pick up from the hotel & transfer to Vung Tau Beach, Head out from Ho Chi Minh City, past the rubber and cashew nut plantations and rice fields that cover the landscape, reach to Vung Tau & enjoy swimming on beach. Visit White Palace which served as a summer residence of Vietnam’s last emperor. Your guide shows you the Niet Ban Tinh Xa pagoda and the Buddhist shrine of Thich Ca Phat Dai, along with a colonial-era lighthouse built by the French or the city’s giant image of Christ. Then transfer back to Hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.

DAY 5HO CHI MINH DEPARTURE (B)

  • Breakfast at Hotel. Time Free for Leisure.
  • Check-out from the hotel & transfer to Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh) International Airport for return flight.
